GKRGY is Andrea Callea’s more rhythmic music project, fulfilling creative needs complementary to Aner Andros more introspective and sound design oriented music, to release the tunes that would otherwise go unreleased.

Tentative genres as the main focus could be chill-out, chill-hop, downtempo, old school house, and influences from IDM. However, anything goes. The only true constraint for GKRGY is the minimalism in both the setup and the production process. The sole instruments allowed for GKRGY are a Deluge, a Mod Duo X. With aid from an iPad for controllers and additional timbres. Some old NI Maschine and Ableton Live tracks are also released here.

Initially GKRGY was going to be embodied by Gregory Rees. However, the need to give space to his own brighter side was more important than to constitute yet another persona going nowhere. Andrea suffices as nobody going nowhere, already. GKRGY stands for Grey - Black - Red - Gold - Yellow; and it is pronounced ‘gherkin’.
