GKRGY is Andrea Callea’s more rhythmic music project. With a focus on songs that don’t fit Aner Andros signature sound and that would otherwise go unreleased. GKRGY fulfills creative needs opposed to, and complements, Aner Andros more introspective and sound design oriented music.

Although there are tentative genres to focus on, such as chillout, chillhop, downtempo, old school house, and influences from IDM. Anything goes, really. The only true constaint for GKRGY is the minimalism in both the setup and the production process. The sole instruments allowed for GKRGY are a Deluge, a Mod Duo X. With aid from an iPad for controllers and additional timbres. Occasional Ableton Live tracks may also be released.

Initially GKRGY was going to be embodied by Gregory Rees. However, the need to give space to his own brigther side was more important than to constitute yet another persona going nowhere. Andrea suffices as nobody going nowhere, already. GKRGY stands for Grey - Black - Red - Gold - Yellow; and it is pronounced ‘gherkin’.
